Albany, NY (November 22, 2007) - Lido the Panda, the Albany Patroons mascot, raced wtih several of his plushy budies in the fourth annual Mascot Marathon Race, as part of Troy's 60th annual Turkey Trot road race. The race, which featued such sports mascots as "Rowdy the River Rat" from the AHL's Albany River Rats hockey team, "Kid Quest" from the arenafootball2's Albany Conquest, and "Puckman" from the RPI hockey team, tried for the fourth consecutive season to outrun the Turkey Trot's Mr. Turkey mascot. Last year, the mascots held back Mr. Turkey from finishing, only to have Mrs. Turkey leave the stands and finish the race. Since Mrs. Turkey would not be participating in the race, could Lido and his friends finally upset the king of the gobblers?

While Lido and five other mascots blocked Mr. Turkey's path, Rowdy and Kid Quest raced to the front. Halfway from the finish line, both mascots started celebrating - only to notice that Mr. Turkey's little son jumped out of the stands and sprinted to the finish line, winning the race.

Oh well... maybe next time, Lido.
