ALBANY PATROONS READ TO BE A CHAMPION EVENT
Pine Bush Elementary School, Guilderland, N.Y.
December 14, 2007

Members of the Albany Patroons basketball team helped their youngest fans with reading and comprehension skills at the team's first "Read to Be a Champion" event of the season, at Pine Bush Elementary School in Guilderland. The event was a complete success, as testified to by Patroons Assistant Coach Darryl Skeeter:

I would like to thank everyone who helped to make the first event in our "Read to be a Champion" campaign a great success. As you can see from the pictures...the school, the students and the Albany Patroon players truly enjoy the event, and all expressed an interest in having the event return to Pine Bush Elementary before the end of the basketball season.

We want to thank Pine Bush Elementary, its staff and their students for being such great host and for the tremendous amount of participation and energy they give to the first of many "Read to be a Champion" events. The players truly had an incredible time and enjoyed everyone at Pine Bush Elementary.

The event included the 1st grade classes and the 3rd and 4th grade reading partners progam. The event ended with lots of smiles, pictures and autographs for the students and teachers.

The Albany Patroons are looking forward to setting up our next 'Read to be a Champion' event. Thanks again to one and all. - Darryl Skeeter
